Yukinojo is Mihoshi's ship computer. Jobs include auto-pilot, communications, and keeping Mishoshi out of trouble (or at least try to). Similar units can be found in other GP ships, their character and functions develop depends on their owner, so each one is unique. It's a good thing too, because only Yukinojo can truly understand Mihoshi, unlike everyone else.
